This is an old piece, so the comment is probably not that meaningful to you now, but I'm trying to figure out the chain's overall arc, and what doesn't make sense is where it's going from the point that he's holding it. The end part is pretty clear, but otherwise a bit confusing. Not that big a deal, just a nitpick.
